NANO-CRYSTAL FOR JEWELRY

Nano-Crystal is an advanced glass-ceramic material produced by controlled crystallization of glass.

The controlled crystallization process creates a fine crystalline structure within the glass matrix, combining selected optical characteristics of glass with the mechanical and thermal properties of glass-ceramics.

The result is a material designed specifically for applications where color, optical appearance, thermal stability and durability are important.

SAFTY AND RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION

AKNTAL Nano-Crystal is produced using controlled formulations designed to avoid intentionally added cadmium, lead, arsenic, and other restricted hazardous substances.

Nano-Crystal offers a broad range of possibilities for jewelry manufacturers, designers and stone cutters.

Color

We can develop a wide variety of colors and saturation levels, including:

  • Transparent

  • Semi-transparent

  • Medium and saturated colors

  • Deep and dark shades

  • Special optical effects

For many colors, different saturation levels can be produced, from Extra Light (EL) and Light (L) through Medium (M) and Dark (D) to Very Dark (VD) and Super Dark (SD).

This allows designers to select the appropriate appearance for both small and large faceted stones.

One of the important advantages of manufactured glass-ceramic material is the ability to achieve consistent color throughout the material.

Controlled production conditions allow us to maintain repeatability between production batches and provide stable color development for jewelry manufacturers.

This is particularly important when producing matching stones, repeated designs and larger jewelry collections.

THERMAL STABILITY

Nano-Crystal Glass-Ceramics are designed to provide high thermal and mechanical stability.

Their low thermal expansion and resistance to thermal shock make selected Nano-Crystal compositions suitable for applications involving elevated temperatures, including certain lost-wax jewelry casting processes.

The suitability of a particular color and formulation should be evaluated according to the customer's casting temperature, investment material and production process.

LOST-WAX CASTING OF JEWELRY

Nano-Crystal can be used in jewelry manufacturing where resistance to thermal stress is required.

Compared with conventional decorative glass materials, specially developed glass-ceramic compositions can provide improved resistance to thermal conditions encountered during jewelry production.

This makes Nano-Crystal an interesting material for:

MORE THAN 100 COLORS

Color is one of the most important characteristics of Nano-Crystal.

By carefully selecting the glass composition, crystallization conditions and colorants, a wide spectrum of visual effects can be achieved.

Different metal oxides and selected rare-earth elements can be used to modify the final color and optical appearance.

This provides designers with considerably more freedom than working with a limited selection of naturally occurring gemstones.
